MER Clinic: Prototype ET&WNC (The Tweetsie) -- A Railroad to Model

This clinic is not a modeling clinic but a history of the East Tennessee & Western North Carolina Railroad (ET&WNC -- The Tweetsie). Because of its interesting history and unique industries for a short 66 mile railroad, it is a railroad that is ideal to model either partially or entirely. It was also one of the longest narrow gauge railroads in America with great scenic possibilities. The Doe River Gorge is the deepest gorge in the Appalachian mountain chain and can rival some of the scenery found in western narrow gauge railroads.
